The grimy EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS of the last five days -- with the Heat Index over 100 degrees and the Air Quality Index exceeding and hovering over 125 during the day (into the Orange Zone and rated "Unhealthy to Sensitive Groups" [see airnow.gov]) --- is coming to a close as temperatures and smog levels in the Ozarks have finally begun to moderate on Thursday.
