Angels of Justice for Southwest Baptist University and the Missouri Baptist Convention

R: Hey, did you see the list?

P: Which list was that?

R: The list of
"allegations of grievous misconduct" by Southwest Baptist University officials that Marie would like the Missouri Baptist Convention to investigate.

P: No, I don't think so. Now, who did what exactly?

R: Well, it says that:
... Southwest Baptist University President Dr. C. Pat Taylor and the Southwest Baptist University Trustees, administration, nursing and legal staff and other personnel have maintained a perpetual pattern of deceptive, unethical, unprofessional, and illegal mismanagement ... and have continuously neglected and obstructed the thorough investigation of allegations of grievous misconduct, including ...

P: May I see that, please?

R: Sure, here's the list:

1. the sexual battery, molestation, predatory sexual
harassment and hazing of Southwest Baptist University
students.

from government and court officials, students, parents, and
the general public pertaining to repeated indoor, daytime
fumigation of highly toxic pesticides applied by an ad
mittedly
uncertified applicator;

3. the depraved indifference of SBU and Missouri B

their progeny and the refusal of SBU officials to w
arn of
the potential hazards of pesticides and solvents used
on the
SBU campus;

27. and the denigration and retaliatory intimidation of
individuals who have reported the above conduct.

P: Wow, that's quite a list, but as I understand it, that is just an early draft and that's not all ...

R: That's not all?!

P: No, the last draft I saw, there were more ... maybe ten to a dozen more items on the list.

R: You're kidding! When does all this go before the Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention?

P: Marie has written Missouri Baptist Convention officials to let them know that -- if she cannot get a written commitment from FBC-Bolivar to handle the matter properly -- she will allow the process to go to the Missouri Baptist Convention on June 1.

She is asking that there be a "substantive resolution" by Thursday, July 10 -- before the Missouri Baptist Convention Executive Board meeting on July 14-15.

R: Do you think that the First Baptist Church of Bolivar will actually do something about all the harm that they have done? Will they do what is right ,,, this time ... finally?

P: I don't know, but if they don't ... it is going to be an interesting summer for the rest of us. ...

R: Isn't it kind of bizarre that after all this suffering, the First Baptist Church of Bolivar should end up playing SBU's ... and the Missouri Baptist Convention's ... "Angels of Justice" -- angelos, messenger, from the Greek?

P: Yes ... Wondrously bizarre. God certainly has a sense of humor. ...

Additional posts to follow this week, including:

The Art and Science of Justice: The Letter to Longtime Missouri Baptist and Southwest Baptist University Trustee, Rebecca Randles
(details here)

*PLEASE NOTE: *Because of the need to await the decision of First Baptist Church of Bolivar (see details here), Marie's letter to Rebecca Randles (see details here) will likely not be sent until at least June 1, although this is subject to change if the circumstances should require.

Yes, Marie will be communicating with the First Baptist Church of Bolivar extensively this week and next -- throughout the rest of May and June 2008.
